2025 Youth Turkey Hunt

Youth Turkey Hunt 2025 – A Weekend to Remember

There’s nothing quite like a spring morning in the turkey woods—except maybe sharing it with the next generation of hunters. This past weekend, we had the incredible opportunity to host our Youth Turkey Hunt, and we couldn't be more proud of how it turned out.

What made this event truly special wasn't just the gobbles at sunrise or the successful harvests (though we had a few of those!). It was the amazing group of volunteer guides who stepped up to take these kids out into the field and give them an experience they’ll never forget.

Each young hunter was paired with an experienced guide who donated their time and knowledge to help mentor these future sportsmen and women. From teaching the basics of turkey calls and camouflage to stressing the importance of safety and respect for wildlife, these guides went above and beyond.

More Than Just a Hunt

For many of these youth participants, this was their very first hunting experience. And thanks to the patience, encouragement, and enthusiasm of our guides, it won’t be their last. They learned what it means to rise early, sit still (mostly!), listen to the woods, and feel the excitement that comes when a gobbler answers back.

Some harvested their first bird, and others came close—but every single one walked away with new skills, memories, and a deeper appreciation for the outdoors.

Thank You to Our Guides

We want to send out a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to every guide who took part in this hunt. You didn’t just lead kids into the field—you led them into a tradition, a lifestyle, and a community that they’re now a part of.

Your passion for hunting and teaching made all the difference. You showed these young hunters what it means to be ethical, responsible, and respectful in the outdoors. You reminded us all why mentorship matters.

Whether you called in a bird, helped calm first-time jitters, or simply shared a good story in the blind—you made a lifelong impression. And we are so grateful.

Looking Ahead

Events like this are what keep hunting heritage alive. The youth turkey hunt wasn’t just a weekend getaway—it was an investment in the future of conservation and outdoor traditions.

To the parents, volunteers, sponsors, and especially our guides—thank you for believing in the importance of getting kids outdoors.

We’re already looking forward to next year.

Until then—keep your calls sharp, your boots muddy, and your hearts ready to mentor.

With gratitude,

NRV Sportsmen For Kids
